Follow The Rainbow Pop Up Party

We had so much fun combining a few of our favorite St. Patty's Day traditions for our very first Pop Up Play Date!  Imagine our kid's excitement when they received an invitation in the mail from Lucky the Leprechaun inviting them to follow the rainbow for a special surprise!

The kids started out their play date by following the hidden rainbows all along the trail and into the trees.  It was so much fun watching them search for Lucky the Leprechan!  They were convinced they were going to find him and his house! (Sorry kids ;) The rainbows led them to a magical little clearing where we set up the cutest, most colorful table for a special green dinner.

Our colorful table was complete with all things rainbow! We color-coordinated the balloons, silverware, horn blowers, and plates.  There are so many cute rainbow paper products out there! We made it easy for you and linked our favorites here, here, here and here.  For fun little place settings, we made confetti poppers with a rainbow label with each child's name.  A huge hit with the kids!  We couldn't pass up the cutest mini take out containers (from the dollar store!) so naturally we filled them with gold chocolate nuggets as a little party favor for the kids to take home. :)

The menu for our green dinner was super simple and seriously delicious!  We made green fruit kabobs with kiwi, green grapes, and honeydew melon.  For our main dish we served a family favorite - green tortellini with the yummiest (like, lick your plate clean, yummy!) homemade pesto cream sauce. For a fun and festive treat we made individual rainbow jello's topped with whipped cream. **On a side note - I was totally intimidated to make these, but they were actually super easy!  (If you're like me and leave everything to the last minute this is a huge bonus ;) For a fun little treat we filled our rainbow popcorn containers with popcorn and skittles!  And for dessert, we couldn't help ourselves and had to make the cutest St. Patty's cupcakes, which obviously the kids loved!

We ended our dinner with an explosion of confetti and true joy as the kids ran around hyped up on sugar and continuing their search for Lucky! Haha ;)
